Are you open?
Yes, Monday,Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 12-4 for now.
Per Porter County we can only allow 14 in the shop at a time currently.
Are you taking donations?
Short answer yes, but please be considerate to our limited volunteers as we will not be able to handle 8 weeks worth of donations and spring cleaning saved up from our hundreds of donors all at the same time. If you have a lot,
please bring a little at a time, if you have a little, bring it all.
Are there any sales?
Currently we are doing our $1.00 Clothing and shoes ($6.00 and below) and 25% off of other stuff on Mondays,Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saturday’s will be 50% off stuff over $1.00
Why are the hours so limited?
The majority of our volunteers fall into the category that according to the guidelines should still be sheltering in place. We are making do with the few volunteers we have.
Are you accepting new volunteers?
Yes we are, applications are available. But it is a catch 22 situation, we are dedicating our human resources into our reopening right now.
How long will all of this last?
We do not know. We keep saying nothing is set in stone. We are doing the best we can with the resources we have. We hope to expand our hours and days as volunteers are available. It is easier to add capacity, than to take it away, so we want to make sure we can handle our commitments before adding more.
What precautions are you taking?
We are following the state guidelines for retail. We are not restocking during the day to keep the number of people in the showroom to a minimum. We have a doorkeeper offering hand sanitizer and wiping carts as they are returned. We are using our closed days to clean and restock. The restroom is sanitized once daily. Our volunteers are wearing masks, are screened for fever upon entering the building, and we have installed a face shield at the register. We have instituted 1 way aisles. We are offering a senior hour on Thursdays from 12-1.
What happens if the state closes retail again?
We will follow all state guidelines and recommendations.
